Snow peas and beef stir-fry recipe

So I make stir-fry ALL THE TIME. It is literally the best meal, all you do it take all of your favorite things, soak them in soy sauce and stir them together! I have never actually followed a recipe when making my stir-fry. I really do just take all my favorite veggies and protein and cook them up and add a good sauce. The reason this recipe from Taste of Home caught my eye was because they made their own stir-fry sauce, which I have never done and would like to try. Not to mention that picture...it is irresistible.

What you'll need:
1 beef top sirloin steak (1 1/2 lbs), thinly sliced
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup sherry or water
2 tbsp cornstarch
2 tsp sugar
2 tbsp canola oil
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 lb sliced fresh mushrooms
1 medium onion, sliced thin
8 oz cooked fresh snow peas
hot cooked rice

1. In a small bowl whisk together soy sauce, sherry, cornstarch, and sugar. Transfer 1/4 cup of the mixture to a large bowl; stir in 1 tbsp oil and garlic. Add beef, toss to coat. Let beef mixture stand for 15 minutes.
2. Heat large skillet over med-high heat. Add half the beef mixture, stir fry for 1-2 minutes until no longer pink. Remove from pan and repeat with remaining beef.
3. In the same pan, heat remaining oil over med-high heat and add mushrooms and onions. Cook and stir until mushrooms are tender. Add snow peas, cook 2-3 minutes longer or until crisp tender.
4. Stir in remaining soy sauce mixture into pan. Bring to a boil, cook and stir 1-2 minutes until sauce is thickened. Return beef to pan, heat through. Serve over rice.

Sounds awesome. Wouldn't change a thing! So if you are looking for a good stir fry recipe but aren't sure where to start, I think this should be the place.
